Bloom | Project 52 | Cheer

Week 52 Theme: Cheer. Although this image is not filled with what you would normally think cheer should suggest, I think that this time of year, reflection of our past year and the year to come fills me with tremendous cheer. Cheer for our past accomplishments and future goals. Therefore, I give you an image filled with cheerful reflection. I am sad this year's project is ending, but so grateful that I was able to be a part of it. Thank you ladies for filling my year with beautiful images! I feel great accomplishment, as I managed to not miss one single week! It was not easy, and sometimes my images were a stretch for the week's theme, but I made it! I've learned so much from each and every one of you!! Happy New Year to everyone...can't wait to see you all more on the forum! xoxo, Karyn Don't forget to see what Alison Crane is up to this week: Bay Area Photographer, Alison Crane.

Bloom | Project 52 | Jewel

Week 50 Theme: Jewel. I'm always discovering little jewels of images in my archives. These images might not mean anything to anybody else, but they are a part of my everyday...downtown Stockton, CA. They remind me to just go out and shoot for me more next year...I want my boys to experience my world through my eyes and hopefully leave with them a little piece of me with every image :). Now let's go see what Alison Crane is up to this week: Bay Area Photographer, Alison Crane.

Bloom | Project 52 | Opposites

Week 49 Theme: Opposites. There could be nothing more opposite than these two sets of siblings. I have one set that hugs each other on command and the other set that are whispering not so nice sisterly things to each other through those smiles! Yes, these would be my nieces and nephew and I love them to pieces :). Don't forget to visit Alison Crane's blog next: Bay Area Photographer, Alison Crane.

Film Fridays | November Edition + Project 52 | Silver

Okay, I know this is like cheating big time...but gonna be away from my computer for a while and wanted to make sure I got both my Film Friday and Project 52 posts up :)! 1. Shoot a roll of film and share on the last friday of the month...its called...film fridays! You can follow the entire group of us filmies by clicking on the blog links in each post. I'm looking forward to learning from everyone's film adventures. Grab an old film camera and start shooting :).

As film shooters do you ever get crazy when trying to decide if you want to shoot color or bw film? Well, that's me ALL DAY LONG...I always want to shoot both and I'm not one of those who can see whether a shot would look awesome in black and white at that particular moment or not...not to mention trying to juggle 2 cameras at once. So I've been playing around with b&w conversions on some of my color scans lately and really like vsco film's hp5- preset. What do you girls do to convert some of your color images to b&w? All images fuji 400h color scans converted with vsco film's hp5- preset, Contax 645. Don't forget to visit Hampshire Wedding  Photographer, Jenny Owen's blog next :).

2. Week 48 Theme: Silver...Does b&w count?...sure it does...I think I'm doubly cheating now!! So for my Sunday Project 52 group, please follow Alison Crane's link next. Thank you girls for indulging in my madness! Have a wonderful week! Alison Crane's blog: Bay Area Photographer, Alison Crane.

Bloom | Project 52 | Chocolate

Week 47 Theme: Chocolate...Thankful for spending the weekend with this motley crew...fun, but crazy photo shoot against my sister's chocolate brown garage doors. Just a little peek into their sassiness...I think I have a few more gray hairs after this one, ;).

Bloom | Project 52 | Spooky

Sundays, The Bloom Forum, 16 talented ladies, 52 weeks, 52 themes, 16 different interpretations = one inspiring year! Week 44 Theme: Spooky...we don't really do the Halloween thing at our house anymore since the boys are older now. So spooky for me was a lil tough. But two images that come to mind for this week's theme are these two below. The first one because my nieces look like lil tiny ants with their stoic expressions and the second because double exposures in general kinda take on that effect on their own (accidental film double exposure). And then I went all the way back to my 2010 archives to wish everyone a happy halloween with the third image!! Have a safe one everyone!!

Week 36 Theme: Labor (Day Weekend)...My oldest son has been away at running camp in the City for the past 2 labor day weekends and this his 3rd. After spending a few fun hours with the Nisby family (Ty, Cheryl and their beautiful daughter Kaia) it reminded me of how much I missed having everyone home on long weekends :(.  However, I did get to spend some solo movie time with my youngest Kyle, after spending some family time with the Nisby's. I loved photographing them in their gorgeous home...here's a few peeks at their session. Thank you again Cheryl and Ty for welcoming us into your home...you have a beautiful, beautiful family! Sundays, The Bloom Forum, 16 talented ladies, 52 weeks, 52 themes, 16 different interpretations = one inspiring year! Week 34 Theme: Dirty...Birthdays should not be such a dirty word! Every year I celebrate my 29th bday, ha! I'm so glad that my friend Lehua did this birthday shoot with me...I think I've always seen this in her...this sultry, sexy side (yes, Lehua...sexy, lol!!!) and I'm so glad that she let me capture it and show it to her and everyone else. She has the fiercest stare in the camera too...kinda gives me the chills looking through her images...And I hope this week's theme name didn't catch you off guard Lehua...cuz there's nothing dirty about you...well maybe the fact that you were making Marina and I all hot and teary eyed with your fierceness...you hot lil mama you!!!  xoxo
