Film Fridays | April Edition

Shoot a roll of film and share the entire roll on the last friday of the month...its called...film fridays! You can follow the entire group of us filmies by clicking on the blog links in each post. I'm looking forward to learning from everyone's film adventures. Grab an old film camera and start shooting :). I was actually waiting on a few scans that I had in mind for this month's post, but that didn't work out as planned...so sitting at home with my sick boy, I thought...when life gives you lemons...why the heck not and try and make some darn good lemonade!!!! Geesh!!! So I took my Canon EOS 3 and some Fuji Superia 400 around my house and shot a whole roll of whatever the heck I felt like shooting. It was kinda like therapy...so here's a whole roll (minus one that was completely blank...not sure what happened there), the good, bad and ugly (no, not you Kyle...). A little tour of my house on film...enjoy! Developed and scanned by Walgreens...cropped a few and removed dust from scans. And please don't forget to follow our blog circle by checking out Hampshire children and family portrait photographer, Jenny Owen's film friday post!

In honor of our upcoming Earth Day 2012, my nieces and I were appreciating a small piece of our beautiful planet...a few treasures from our last trip to Santa Cruz.

Bloom | Project 52 | Home

Sundays, The Bloom Forum, 16 talented ladies, 52 weeks, 52 themes, 16 different interpretations = one inspiring year! week 15 theme: home / n  1. A place where one lives; a residence. a. An environment offering security and happiness.

With all the new camera gear that was released recently, I have had to practice great restraint in not lusting over the next new thing (which I hear is awesome, btw...ahem...5dmarkiii...). Soooo...I've turned to playing with some of my older toys. As most of you know, I have this thing for film, so I dusted off my $10 thrift store Canon AE-1 (manual focusing is not easy with this thing...), loaded it with Fuji Superia 800 and made my boy suffer, I mean sit through a few shots in my natural light studio a.k.a. my dining room! So stretching the theme here a bit, but this is where my loved ones and I sit every single day in our home. We were even blessed with having our family over for early Easter dinner last night, right where he's sitting! Happy Easter everyone. For all you filmies out there...dev & scanned by Costco.

Don't forget to follow our entire group by heading on over to  Carrie Terrones, Las Vegas Photographer's blog next.

This group was created only a few weeks ago, so this month we are sharing what we can. In honor of Ripon, CA's Almond Blossom Festival, I am sharing a few frames from this past weekend. The beautiful blooms are around only for a very short period of time (I think a week or two at the most) and when I shot these the blooms were not yet at their peak. Enjoy our valley's most beautiful time of the year and then follow our blog circle by checking out Hampshire children and family portrait photographer, Jenny Owen's film friday post!
