Week 50 Theme: Jewel. I'm always discovering little jewels of images in my archives. These images might not mean anything to anybody else, but they are a part of my everyday...downtown Stockton, CA. They remind me to just go out and shoot for me more next year...I want my boys to experience my world through my eyes and hopefully leave with them a little piece of me with every image :). Now let's go see what Alison Crane is up to this week: Bay Area Photographer, Alison Crane.
Sundays, The Bloom Forum, 16 talented ladies, 52 weeks, 52 themes, 16 different interpretations = one inspiring year! Week 39 Theme: Complementary Colors...two colors directly opposite each other on the color wheel. Nature has the best way of showing how beautifully this works! Also a few images to illustrate how it can translate into our home decor. Oldie, but goodie film shots from our last trips to Apple Hill and Jamestown.

Shoot a roll of film and share the entire roll on the last friday of the month...its called...film fridays! You can follow the entire group of us filmies by clicking on the blog links in each post. I'm looking forward to learning from everyone's film adventures. Grab an old film camera and start shooting :). Big capital letters OMG!!! This has been the longest Film Friday adventure ever...I blame it on the full moon. Well as my Film Friday girls know, I am so late in posting this and would've still been late if I had developed my film last night. When I went to pick up my film the first time today, there was a big fat zero images on my negatives...a negative negative (someone correct me if I got this totally backwards)...UGH! My husband tried to cheer me up by trying to say something or another, but I was so disappointed that I did the next logical thing and bought some ice cream. So as I sit there pouting up my ice cream, my husband thought a good idea to finish up this roll of Portra 160 by capturing my poutiness.
My original idea: capture a whole roll of my friends and family in sunglasses, thus the title...so I made my co-workers pose in there sunnies and I have nothing to show for it. So sorry girls! My husband and boys even sported their sunglasses of choice...But all you get this month is my big disappointed ice cream filled face :)...definitely not what I had in mind.
What I learned this month: 1.) make sure you load your film correctly & 2.) ice cream does help make things better. Have a good Labor Day weekend, love you all for putting up with my craziness.

I'm looking forward to learning from everyone's film adventures. Grab an old film camera and start shooting :). I was actually waiting on a few scans that I had in mind for this month's post, but that didn't work out as planned...so sitting at home with my sick boy, I thought...when life gives you lemons...why the heck not and try and make some darn good lemonade!!!! Geesh!!! So I took my Canon EOS 3 and some Fuji Superia 400 around my house and shot a whole roll of whatever the heck I felt like shooting. It was kinda like therapy...so here's a whole roll (minus one that was completely blank...not sure what happened there), the good, bad and ugly (no, not you Kyle...). A little tour of my house on film...enjoy! Developed and scanned by Walgreens...cropped a few and removed dust from scans. My family and I (yes we packed up everybody!!) had the pleasure to spend a beautiful day with the Richisons a few weeks ago and we had so much fun. Having boys myself, spending time with the girls was a nice change of pace. The best part was that we had ice cream at a nearby diner after our session! If you want to get some fresh air and get away for the day, I highly recommend Knights Ferry. Thank you Paul, Katina, Caroline, Chloe & Claire for sharing your beautiful smiles with us!!
Sundays, The Bloom Forum, 16 talented ladies, 52 weeks, 52 themes, 16 different interpretations = one inspiring year! week 6 theme: grounded / adj 1. Mentally and emotionally stable 2. Admirably sensible, realistic, and unpretentious.
I know for a fact that my husband and boys keep me grounded. They are bluntly honest with me on a daily basis :)...and I love them for that. I know, I know...this is not an image of my family (they have 3 adorable girls...I have 2 crazy boys), but it reminded me of how peaceful and grateful I feel when I'm with my own family. Thank you boys for keeping it real for me and keeping ME real...xoxo...now let's head on over to Carrie Terrones, Las Vegas Photographer and see how she interprets this week's theme. Happy Superbowl Sunday everyone...I'm spending it with my 3 fave boys!
Thank you Jasmine for enduring the gale force winds that day!!! I'm not kidding...that day was crazy windy. But through it all, you still managed to look amazing! You have a bright future ahead of you and I can't wait to see how far you go!! xoxo to you and your loving family. Loved every minute of our windy time together!!

Sundays, The Bloom Forum, 16 talented ladies, 52 weeks, 52 themes, 16 different interpretations = one inspiring year! Theme: cold This week was just that...cold, cold, cold! These bare trees (shot through the cold, foggy front window of my car...yes, that's how cold I was!) summed up how dark and cold it really was around here. We may not have snow around these parts, but we definitely experienced a cold snap with the wind and rain this week. I wonder how cold it was in Las Vegas with Carrie Terrones, Las Vegas Photographer...let's go see!
Look what I just got in my inbox today...one big beautiful smile! Can't wait to show you the rest of Jasmine's session. To inquire about a senior session just use the "contact me" button below or email me directly at email@example.com!
You know that I couldn't leave my own face at the top of the page for long, right!! Phew...I feel much better. Enjoy the walk in the park with my nieces...
So I'm trying to put together an album of some of my favorite film images from 2011 and I found these buried in my computer. I shared a few film pics from Tara's session last year, but I don't think that I've ever shared these (I think you've seen the digital versions of the last two, but never on film). These were from my first roll of color film that I shot in 2011 and I still love them! Thanks again (almost a whole year later) Tara!!
One of the things that I loved most about David's session (aside from the fact that I loved spending the day with him & his family :)) is that he filled out his session info himself. He wrote "I just want my personal swag (style) to come out in my photo's. This is a very special time in my life and these pictures are great memories of my last year at Lincoln....best years of my life." I definitely saw his personal swag in these images when I first saw them and they reminded me of all the fun times that I had in high school many moons ago!! I hope that he can look back on these and be reminded of some of his best years of his life too and be proud of his accomplishments. Congratulations David...dream big!! xoxo

I know, I know, it's not Sunday yet, but it's always good to be ahead of schedule right? I am very thankful for my family's health and sarcastic sense of humor (they crack me up every day)!! And so very thankful for being able to watch one of my lil comedian's compete on his cross country team this year...awesome job Ethan, already looking forward to next year!! Have a good weekend everyone...I love this weather, makes me slow down and appreciate all the small things...well and maybe all the big things too, like Costco sized pumpkin pies...YUM!!
What can I say about Nateil...she is full of energy, outgoing and so much fun!! All that and all this gorgeousness! Thank you for such a fun-filled fashionable session!! Your beautiful personality shines through and through!! Have a good senior year and don't give your mama too much trouble...as you can tell I had a hard time picking out some of my faves...enjoy!! xoxo To inquire about a senior session just use the "contact me" link below or email me directly at email@example.com!
